Advocacy - Liaison with the Government Trail running promotes and relies on access to areas of natural beauty such as country parks. These areas must be protected and cherished for enjoyment by the public for generations. The association hopes to play a liaison role with the AFCD and a communication role with stakeholders in relation to the following issues:
Race management issues (for example ensuring standards on safety, course planning, approval criteria, emergency services liaison etc)
Balancing the use of trails by runners and other users
Erosion and the need for trail maintenance
Reduction of waste
Protection and conservation of the country parks and trails
Supporting Community Projects Trail running in Hong Kong has created an excellent culture which goes beyond running and has played a role in supporting the community. TRAHK hopes to leverage on this culture and connect people and meaningful initiatives, bringing the sports of trail running to young talents and the disadvantaged.
