The Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run is one of the most prestigious 100 mile trail ultramarathons. It has a 25 year history and traverses the San Juan mountains in Colorado every July along a looped trail course at altitudes up to nearly 4,300m. Hardrock is notoriously difficult to gain entry into and equally difficult to finish. Learn about effective strategies to enter, prepare for and succeed at Hardrock.
Many trail runners limit themselves to solely train and race on trails. How about mixing it up with some road running and racing? Find out what it takes to train for a mixed season and master two vastly different events such as Hardrock and Spartathlon, a 246km nonstop road race from Athens to Sparta in Greece. Our speaker Andre Blumberg is a TRAHK founding member and an accomplished ultramarathon runner who specialises in distances of 100 miles and longer. In 2018, Andre won and set a new course record at the TorTour de Ruhr, a 230km road race in Germany. Just nine weeks later he completed the mountainous Hardrock Hundred for the second time in as many years. Ten weeks after that he went back on the road to finish Spartathlon in a respectable time of 29 hours. Andre will talk about goal setting, his preparation for these races including training strategy, mental preparation, nutrition, gear and how to fit it all into a single season. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO TRAHK MEMBERS ONLY. PLS SIGN UP FOR MEMBERSHIP AT WWW.TRAHK.ORG and you will receive RSVP form. 100 seats are available, on a first-come-first serve basis.
